Lost & Found
The number of items that have been left behind in the church is growing. If you are missing any water bottles, reading glasses, clothing, jewelry or a rosary please check out the lost and found table in the entry of the church, or contact the parish office with a description of your missing items. We hope to find homes for these lost and found items in the next couple of weeks!
Sunday Lunch – August 3
Each Sunday the Sunday Lunch program offers a free meal at 1:00 in the St. Ann parish hall, served by various church and civic groups. It’s St. Ann’s turn to serve Sunday Lunch on Sunday, August 3rd. Contact Susan Lopez if you would like to volunteer to help with this ministry on that day.
Creation Care Corner
With fire season fast approaching, here are some tips and resources provided to us by the Gonzaga Center for Climate, Society and the Environment to help stay safe from wildfire smoke.
Thank you to the Creation Care Team for sharing these reflections with us.
Please note: The Creation Care Team will no longer be hosting the Prayer for Creation in the Chapel on the third Sunday of each month.
Franciscan Corner
“Make me a channel of your peace… where there’s despair in life let me bring hope…” Perhaps you have watched or know of the tv series “The Chosen”. Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus in the show, recently said “Life is only better with Jesus in it.” He said he tries to portray Jesus in a way the viewers can easily connect with him (Jesus).
There were no movies, no tv shows in Francis’ time. Francis of Assisi read the Gospel, he heard Jesus say: “If you would be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” (Matt 19:21) and Francis did! Francis put on Christ! He lived so that others could easily connect with Jesus. He brought peace to places and hearts that were not peaceful. He was a pilgrim of hope. Let us reflect on our own lives. Are we pilgrims of hope to others? Do we bring hope to places and hearts that need hope? May we, as pilgrims of hope bring that same message to those we meet: Life is better with Jesus in it!
Thank you to Sr. Joanne for sharing these reflections with us.
