July 6, 2025 – 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Welcome Home, Father Patrick!

Father Patrick has returned from his trip!  He had a wonderful time, but is very happy to be back home in Spokane. He will celebrate Mass at St. Ann this weekend. Thank you to Fr. Max O, Fr. Roy S. and Fr. Max M. for celebrating Mass with us at St. Ann while Father Patrick was away.

Swahili Mass – July 6

St. Ann celebrates Mass in Swahili on the 1st Sunday of each month. Please join us for this joyful celebration of Mass on July 6th at 9:00 AM.  The Swahili choir also provides music for the Saturday Mass that weekend.  If you would like to join the offertory procession on Sunday, you are invited to bring items such as paper towels, water bottles and snacks for the parish house, or kleenex and hand sanitizer for the church.

Thank you to St. Ann Parish

Thank you from Oscar & Gexania

To the Parish Community,

The Costero-Umbria family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped make our wedding a beautiful reality on May 3rd. Whether through planning, decorating, or simply by being present on our special day, your support meant the world to us. You are a true reflection of Christ’s love in action.

Many thanks!

Thank you from Sonia & Family

Dear St. Ann’s Family,

I am truly grateful for the wonderful surprise party you organized to celebrate my graduation. Your thoughtfulness, generosity, and overwhelming love have deeply touched my family and me.

Your presence, kind words, gifts, and heartfelt congratulations have filled my heart with joy and renewed my spirit. I feel honored and blessed to be a part of such a compassionate and supportive family at St. Ann.

May God’s grace abound in your lives, for His grace is indeed sufficient!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Sonia and the Somwe family.

Creation Care Corner

“If the Earth is indeed a sacrament of divine presence, a locus of divine compassion, and a bearer of diving promise, then its ongoing destruction…is a deeply sinful desecration.

In the tradition of biblical prophecy and the spirit of Jesus, the response of people of faith needs to become prophetic and challenging, promoting care, protection and healing of the natural world even if these go counter to powerful economic and political interests – and they do”.  Elizabeth Johnson

“Ecological conversion…is the radical change of mind and heart that leads to a deeper love and respect for all creatures as having their own integrity before God: it involves change to a sustainable lifestyle, to sustainable patterns of production and consumption and to sustainable economic and political choices.” Denis Edwards

These quotes came out following the publication of Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’, a plea to “every person living on this planet” to join him in embarking on a new path.  His acknowledgement of the urgency of the challenges to our environment that we must protect our common home still calls to us today…10 years later! How are we doing?

Thank you to the Creation Care Team for sharing these reflections with us.

Please note: The Creation Care Team will no longer be hosting the Prayer for Creation in the Chapel on the third Sunday of each month.

Franciscan Corner

“ Make me a channel of your peace… where there’s despair in life let me bring hope…” Summer is upon us. Although Francis walked many times to Rome, I’m sure he didn’t go there in the summer! Rome in the summer can get very hot! So the Romans take vacation and get out of town! Francis lived in one of the best places in the summer–in the hills around Assisi. He could lay on the ground at night, think of all that had happened in his life, gaze at the moon and the stars, and contemplate how he could bring hope to those shunned. Pope Leo XIV is getting out of town too! He’s going to Castel Gandolfo, the Papal residence in the Alban Hills south of Rome. Perhaps he too will contemplate all that has happened these past few months, gaze upon God’s creation, contemplate how he can bring hope to a world stressed with war, and “man’s inhumanity to man”. As we begin July, may we find cool places where we can take time to enjoy a change of pace, contemplate God’s creation and renew ourselves to be pilgrims of hope in our circles, in our church, in our world.

Thank you to Sr. Joanne for sharing these reflections with us.
