October 4, 2026 – Twenty-seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time

St. Ann Family Spaghetti Dinner – October 3rd

Join us for the St. Ann Family Spaghetti Dinner at 5:00 PM, after the 4:00 PM Mass, on October 3rd to celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi and the 800th anniversary of his passing. We will begin with Mass, then share a meal and stories together … and have a chance to play bingo!

Swahili Mass – October 4

St. Ann celebrates Mass in Swahili on the first Sunday of each month. Please join us for this joyful celebration of Mass on Sunday, October 4 at 9:00 AM. If you would like to bring a donation for the offertory procession, our Sunday Lunch program is in need of coffee and sticks of butter, or the parish house could use items such as coffee pods, granola bars or crackers for visitors and groups that use the house.

Feast of St. Francis of Assisi – Blessing of Animals

We will celebrate the end of the Season of Creation and the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi with a Blessing of Animals at the end of the Saturday 4:00 PM and Sunday 9:00 AM Masses, to celebrate the 800th anniversary of his passing. You are invited to bring a photo, drawing or stuffed toy to be blessed

Bake Sale to benefit Matthew 25 – October 4

If you missed the bake sale last weekend, here’s a second chance to support Matthew 25!  Members of our African community will be selling mandazis and samosas in the parish hall after Swahili Mass on October 4th, to help Matthew 25 with legal fees for Becil – our parishioner and member of our Swahili choir, who is being held in detention in Tacoma.  Thank you for your support.

Pray the Rosary for Peace – October 10

Please join us in praying the rosary for peace in America and our world on Saturday, October 10 at 12:00 Noon in the church.  We will be praying the joyful mysteries along with music.  For those who are unable to attend, we ask that you pray the rosary in your home at noon on Saturday October 10. For more details, see the flyer below.

St. Ann Youth – Sunday Lunch on October 11

The St. Ann youth will be serving Sunday Lunch again on Sunday, October 11th.  Volunteers will come at 11:00 to prepare the food, and lunch is served at 1:00. This is a great opportunity for our young people to serve our community and get to know one another better. If your child or teen  (3rd grade & up)  is interested in serving Sunday Lunch, sign up at Mass or email Hannah at hmvehrs@gmail.com with your child’s name and  a parent name and phone number.

Matthew 25 Ministry Prayer Vigil – October 18

The Matthew 25 Ministry is holding a prayer vigil to stand in solidarity with immigrants and refugees on Sunday, October 18, at 4:00-5:00.  Join us at the Thomas Foley Courthouse as we stand together in prayer and song, in solidarity with our neighbors.  See flyer below for more details.

2026-27 Sunday Missal & Free 2027 Calendars
Copies of the 2026-27 Sunday Missal are available in the front pew of the church or the Parish office, for a suggested donation of $5 each.

Also available in the front pew and in the entry of the church are free 2027 calendars.  Thank you to Holy Cross Cemetery for making these available to our community for free!

Creation Care Corner

As we celebrate the Season of Creation and the Feast of St. Francis

(Sept. 1-Oct. 4)

Prayer of Thanksgiving

O God, we thank you for this earth, our home;

for the wide sky and the blessed sun,

for the salt sea and the running water,

for the everlasting hills

and the never-resting winds,

for trees and common grass underfoot.

We thank you for our senses

by which we hear the songs of birds,

and see the splendor of summer fields,

and taste the autumn fruits,

and rejoice in the feel of the snow,

and smell the breath of the spring.

Grant us a heart wide open to all this beauty;

and save our souls from being so blind

that we pass unseeing

when even the common thornbush

is aflame with your glory,

O God our creator,

who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.

(By Walter Rauschenbusch)

Thank you to the Creation Care Team for sharing with us!
