Mardi Gras at St. Ann – Thank you!
This year’s Mardi Gras on Valentine’s Day was a huge success! Thank you so much to our wonderful cooks – Lucia, Vickie and Grace, along with their young helpers – for cooking an amazing meal for our community. Thanks also to our crew of hospitality volunteers – especially Mark W., Susan L. and Mark B. – for all their organizing, decorating & setting up for the party, serving food & beverages… and for staying afterward to clean the hall. We are also grateful to Carlos and Tanis for setting up karaoke for all to enjoy – and for everyone who entertained us with their singing. Thank you especially to everyone who attended Mardi Gras and coming together as a community as we head into Lent.

Lent at St. Ann: Waiting with Patience and Purpose
Our theme for Lent is “Waiting with Patience and Purpose”… and we are offering 2 opportunities for our community to wait together with purpose.
On Fridays at 6:00 PM during Lent, beginning on February 27, we will gather in prayer for the Stations of the Cross, followed by a meatless soup dinner together in the hall. There are a few spots open if you would like to lead the stations of the cross one of the weeks; we have several scripts from past years to choose from, so we just need readers to lead us! Contact Elizabeth at communityofstann@gmail.com if you would like to help. We will also have sign up sheets starting this weekend for those who would like to bring soups for our meatless meals on Fridays.
The Social Justice Ministry & Parish Staff invite you to participate in our “Pray for One Day” project during Lent. We hope to have someone from St. Ann signed up to pray for our community, our country and our world every day of Lent. We ask that you sign up to pray for at least one day during Lent. The sign up sheet is available after Mass, or you can contact the office at 509 535-3031 or communityofstann@gmail.com to sign up for a day.
Pope Leo’s Message for Lent:
“I would like to invite you to a very practical and frequently unappreciated form of abstinence: that of refraining from words that offend and hurt our neighbor.”
