November 23, 2025 – Christ the King

Thanksgiving Day Mass – 10:00 AM

There will be a Thanksgiving Day Mass at St. Ann on Thursday, November 27th at 10:00 AM. Join us to celebrate with gratitude for our blessings from God this year.

Liturgy Committee Meeting – November 23

The Liturgy Committee will meet at 11:00 AM after Mass on November 23rd in the parish house.  We will be planning for the seasons of Advent and Christmas. If you are interested in helping with Liturgy at St. Ann, you are welcome to attend.

Ministry Fair – November 30

The Parish Council will be hosting a Ministry Fair after Mass on November 30th. If you are interested in learning about the many different ministries happening at St. Ann, this is a great opportunity to speak with the leaders of each group and find out how to get involved.

**Save the Date**  St. Ann Christmas Concert – December 21

Mark your calendars for the evening of Sunday, December 21st for a Christmas concert at St. Ann, featuring beautiful music from our St. Ann choirs!  This year the Christmas concert will be in the church – with a reception in the hall before and after the concert. This is a free community event, but we will need volunteers to help make it happen. There are lots of opportunities to donate your time – from cleaning and decorating the church and hall, to helping serve at the reception. Sign up sheets will be available after Mass!

Annual Catholic Appeal

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this year’s Annual Catholic Appeal so far. As of November 20th, we have raised $33,585.00 which is 84.7% of our goal, and just $6,068.00 shy of our goal of $39,653.00.

If you would like to help St. Ann reach our ACA goal this year, there are donation envelopes by the bulletins, and the online giving link is on the giving page of our website. https://stannsspokane.org/giving/   Be sure to mark your donation for St. Ann Spokane so that your donation goes towards our goal.

Catholic Charities Christmas Collection

Catholic Charities is asking for support for their annual Catholic Charities Christmas Collection in order to support their work to Feed the Hungry, Heal the Hurting and Welcome the Stranger. Please consider making a donation. This year instead of donation envelopes, there are cards and posters in the entry of the church with a QR code to use to make your donation, to save on the cost of postage. Or you can use the donation link below.

Reminder: Saturday Mass Time Change to 3:00 PM

Due to the change to Standard Time, our Saturday Mass time has changed to 3:00 PM and will continue at that time until after the time change in the spring.

2025-26 Sunday Missals

The new Sunday Missals for 2025-26 are now available, with a suggested donation of $5.00 to help cover the cost. You can pick one up in the front pew of the church, or from the parish office.

2026 Calendars

Thanks to the generosity of Holy Cross Cemetery, our parish has been gifted calendars again this year.  The 2026 calendars are free and have our parish contact information printed on them. They are available in the front pew and in the entry of the church, so please pick one up next time you come to St. Ann.

Safe Environment Training

All volunteers and parishioners who work with children are required by the Diocese of  Spokane to take part in Safe Environment training. We have instructions available for how to sign in to the new system the diocese is using, or to create a new account if you are doing the training for the first time. You can contact the parish office or our safe environment coordinator for more information.

Salam Maria fundraiser

The book “Salam Maria” – which is “Hail Mary” in Swahili – is available in the front pew of the church, or in the parish office, for a suggested $10 donation  The money from this fundraiser will go towards helping youth in rural Kenya.  Although the title of the book is in Swahili, the book is in English and is an informative resource for praying the rosary.

Donations may be made in cash or by check, or paid online (and picked up in person):  https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/salam-maria-book-fundraiser

Creation Care Corner

At a recent webinar offered by Catholic Climate Covenant, Mauricio López Oropeza, founder of the Pan-Amazonian Ecclesial Network, beautifully challenged each of us when he stated:

“Our institutions, our economies, and even our faith communities seem fragile in the face of such magnitude, (i.e. the climate crisis).  And yet, in this moment of powerlessness, faith calls us to a hope that is not naïve but incarnate, born from the wounds of the world.

To look at this reality through the eyes of faith means to recognize the deep connection between the cry of the Earth and the cry of the poor, as Pope Francis reminds us in Laudato Si’.  Hope for believers cannot be separated from responsibility. It must be rooted in conversion: personal, communal, and structural, and in the certainty that the Spirit is already moving within creation, calling us to act with courage and tenderness in defense of life.”

This time of year, we’re preparing to share meals with friends, family, and loved ones, drawn together in community, warm wishes, and hope. Let us take to heart the words above and remember to give thanks for all that we have and lift up in prayer all who suffer the devastating effects of climate change.

Thank you to the Creation Care Team for sharing these reflections with us.
