November 16, 2025 – 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

Thanksgiving Day Mass – 10:00 AM

There will be a Thanksgiving Day Mass at St. Ann on Thursday, November 27th at 10:00 AM. Join us to celebrate with gratitude for our blessings from God this year.

Reminder: Saturday Mass Time Change to 3:00 PM

Due to the change to Standard Time, our Saturday Mass time has changed to 3:00 PM and will continue at that time until after the time change in the spring.

Community Wine Tasting – November 15

Join us after Mass on Saturday, November 15, for our monthly wine tasting. This is a wonderful way to get to know other parishioners.  Bring a snack to share and come learn from Dianne about new wines. And there are non-alcoholic beverages available, as well, so are welcome to attend even if you don’t drink wine.

**Save the date**  St. Ann Christmas Concert

Mark your calendars for the evening of Sunday, December 21st for a Christmas concert at St. Ann, featuring beautiful music from our St. Ann choirs!  This year the concert will be in the church – with a reception in the hall before and after the concert. Stay tuned for more info!

Liturgy Committee Meeting – November 23

The Liturgy Committee will meet at 11:00 AM after Mass on November 23rd in the parish house.  We will be planning for the seasons of Advent and Christmas.

2025-26 Sunday Missals

The new Sunday Missals for 2025-26 are now available, with a suggested donation of $5.00 to help cover the cost. You can pick one up in the front pew of the church, or from the parish office.

2026 Calendars

Thanks to the generosity of Holy Cross Cemetery, our parish has been gifted calendars again this year.  The 2026 calendars are free and have our parish contact information printed on them. They are available in the front pew and in the entry of the church, so please pick one up next time you come to St. Ann.

Annual Catholic Appeal

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this year’s Annual Catholic Appeal so far. This year our parish goal is $39,653.00. As of November 6, we have raised $31,060.00 which is 78.33% of our goal.

Please prayerfully consider how you can support St. Ann to reach our ACA goal this year, and be sure to mark your donation for St. Ann Spokane so that your donation goes towards our goal.

Safe Environment Training

All volunteers and parishioners who work with children are required by the Diocese of  Spokane to take part in Safe Environment training. We have instructions available for how to sign in to the new system the diocese is using, or to create a new account if you are doing the training for the first time. You can contact the parish office or our safe environment coordinator for more information.

Salam Maria fundraiser

The book “Salam Maria” – which is “Hail Mary” in Swahili – is available in the front pew of the church, or in the parish office, for a suggested $10 donation  The money from this fundraiser will go towards helping youth in rural Kenya.  Although the title of the book is in Swahili, the book is in English and is an informative resource for praying the rosary.

Donations may be made in cash or by check, or paid online (and picked up in person):  https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/salam-maria-book-fundraiser

Creation Care Corner

The planet’s biggest climate conference, COP30, has kicked off with representatives from more than 190 countries descending on the Brazilian city of Belém. They will spend two weeks deep in often difficult negotiations on how to rein in dangerous global warming.  Belém is considered to be the “the gateway to the Amazon.”

COP30 is supposed to be the summit where countries really get down to the details of how they plan to halt catastrophic climate change. There’s a huge amount at stake. Last year was the hottest on record, capping a decade of unprecedented heat, and the impacts are already roiling the planet — from hurricanes and floods to fires and extreme heat.

Forests are high on the agenda.  Finances and fossil fuels will also be a major part of negotiations.  The United States has chosen to send no official representation.

Let us pray for all those gathered, that they may attain agreements for the well being of Earth and its inhabitants.

A PRAYER FOR OUR EARTH written by Pope Francis

All-powerful God, you are present in the whole universe and in the smallest of your creatures.

You embrace with your tenderness all that exists.  Pour out upon us the power of your love,

that we may protect life and beauty.  Fill us with peace, that we may live as brother and sister,

harming no one.  O God of the poor, help us to rescue the abandoned and forgotten of this earth,

so precious in your eyes.  Bring healing to our lives, that we may protect the world and not prey

on it, that we may sow beauty, not pollution and destruction.

Teach the hearts of those who look only for gain at the expense of the poor and the earth.

Teach us to discover the worth of each thing, to be filled with awe and contemplation,

to recognize that we are profoundly united with every creature as we journey toward your infinite light.

We thank you for being with us each day.  Encourage us, we pray, in our struggle for justice, love and peace.

Amen

Thank you to the Creation Care Team for sharing these reflections with us.
