Save the Date – St. Ann Summer Party: August 5
The St. Ann Summer Party is always a fun time for our parish community to get to know one another better, so mark your calendar for Wednesday, August 5. The celebration will begin with Mass at 4:00 PM, followed by a free BBQ dinner of hotdogs, hamburgers and corn at about 5:00 PM. If you’d like to contribute, you can bring a salad or side dish to share, or a small plate of cookies, brownies or cupcakes for the cake walk. Contact the parish office if you’d like to volunteer to help out with this fun event.

A sincere thank you to all the musicians filling in for Sonia and Michel this month, especially George, Ryan, and Luisa. Music enriches the prayerfulness of the Mass, and we are very grateful to have these talented individuals willing to share their gifts with our community.
Matthew 25 Prayer Vigil – August 16
Members of the St. Ann Matthew 25 Ministry will hold a prayer vigil on Sunday, August 16, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM, in front of the Thomas Foley U.S. Courthouse on Riverside. This event offers an opportunity to unite in prayer for refugees and immigrants in detention. It is a prayer vigil, not a protest, so please refrain from bringing signs or flags. An informational flyer is available at the church entrance and in the virtual bulletin.
Summer Break for Craig’s Discussion Group
Craig’s Discussion group that meets on Monday afternoons on Zoom is taking a break for the summer and will resume meeting on August 24 to discuss the second half of Richard Rohr’s “The Universal Christ.” Contact the parish office if you are interested in joining the group in August.
Creation Care Corner
Two weekends ago, Fr. Patrick gave a wonderful homily urging us to make time with our families to enjoy the amazing gift of God’s creation. Or spend time alone in communion with all of creation and realize how blessed we are. Once you’ve done that we invite you to read about The Lands Council. Their work is the outdoors. They help to preserve, for us, our children, grandchildren and beyond this richly beautiful land we inhabit. If you feel so moved, they are always in need of volunteers. “We preserve and revitalize Inland Northwest forests, water, and wildlife through advocacy, education, effective action, and community engagement. “
Programs:
- Work in local schools to get students outdoors, and we educate them on the natural world, water quality, and resource issues.
- Works with diverse community partners to develop equitable solutions to our region’s unique challenges and center the experiences of those most impacted.
- Works to increase urban canopy (SpoCanopy and CoolCanopy).
Public Lands & Forest Protection
- Protects wild areas and old growth, while actively promoting restoration and protection of the habitats of endangered, threatened, and sensitive species in the inland northwest.
- In order to improve water quality in these degraded watersheds, The Lands Council is recruiting private landowners interested in implementing “riparian” restoration activities on their properties or farms.
- With the help of hundreds of students and volunteers, we plant native trees and shrubs in buffer strips hugging both sides of a stream.

St. John Vianney Rummage Sale
St. John Vianney is having a Rummage Sale on July 23 – 25. The sale will be in the school gym at 416 N Farr Rd. See flyer below for more details about dates and hours for the sale.
Youth Safety Reminder – Message from Parish Staff
Father Patrick and the Parish staff are concerned about children’s safety at St. Ann. We ask parents and guardians to ensure that an adult accompanies children to the restroom in the hall during Mass. Adults are also encouraged to supervise children playing on church grounds after Mass and during events to prevent accidents. Please note that the church and parish house are not designated play areas, and eating is permitted only in the hall or outside. Donuts should be enjoyed in these areas, not inside the church. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe environment and for respecting our sacred spaces.
Restroom Usage During Mass
The restroom key has been moved to the west side door of the church for easier access. To ensure children’s safety, adults must accompany all children to the restroom in the parish hall during Mass. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!
