Matthew 25 Ministry – Prayer Vigil 

The Matthew 25 Ministry hosted a prayer vigil last Sunday outside of Feast World Kitchen and 1st Presbyterian Church, to stand in solidarity with refugees and immigrants held in detention centers. Thank you to everyone who attended  .  The M25 Ministry hopes to plan a vigil every other month, so stay tuned for the next one in August.

2nd Collection for Social Concerns

It’s the 2nd weekend of the month, which means it’s time for our 2nd Collection for Social Concerns to help our neighbors and parishioners in need of assistance.

Confirmation & 1st Communion Banners

The youth who received the sacraments of Confirmation and 1st Holy Communion in April can now pick up the banners they created, and which we used to decorate the church throughout the Easter Season. Please pick them up from Elizabeth after Mass or in the parish office during office hours.

Seminarian Formation Appeal – June 13 & 14

The formation of our future priests is a critical responsibility for our diocese, and we rely heavily on the support of generous donors like you to make this possible. The cost of educating and training a seminarian for the priesthood can cost up to $400,000 annually, and it is becoming increasingly challenging to meet these expenses without additional assistance from our faithful community. We need your help to ensure that our seminarians receive the resources and guidance necessary to become dedicated and faithful priests who will serve our communities for many years to come. All parishioners should have received a mailing from Bishop Daly during the week of June 8th with information about this collection. If you do not receive a mailing and would like to donate, please visit the diocesan website  www.dioceseofspokane.org/sfa or use one of the envelopes we have available in the entry of the church.

“{The Climate crisis}…is a global social issue and one intimately related to the dignity of human life.”  –  Pope Francis, Laudate Deum

The global food system is one of the biggest drivers of the climate crisis. From the way we grow food to how we package, transport, and throw it away, our food choices are connected to deforestation, greenhouse gas emissions, toxic chemical exposure, and plastic pollution. It’s a problem hiding in plain sight on our grocery shelves, in our refrigerators, and in our trash cans.

Here’s what’s staggering: roughly one-third of all food produced globally is lost or wasted. At the same time much of the food we buy and consume comes packaged in plastic that can persist in the environment for hundreds of years. 

But here’s the good news! You can act today. Small, consistent actions  at the table can add up to significant impact for our planet. That’s the spirit of World Environment Day — observed every June 5th, a global reminder that when billions of people choose action over indifference, meaningful change becomes possible.

You can take simple actions to have an impact.

1. Shop with a list to avoid buying more food thank you need 
2. Store leftovers in reusable containers instead of plastic wrap or bags
3. Compost food scraps rather than sending them to landfill when possible 
4. Choose loose fruits and vegetables over plastic-packaged options
5. Eat at least one plant-based meal to help reduce your environmental footprint

Every meal is a vote for the world you want.

The Sunday evening Zoom prayer service continues to be a prayerful gathering for some of our parishioners. The 7:00 PM service on Sundays is a chance to pray and share together. Contact the parish office at communityofstann@gmail.com  if you are interested in attending this prayer service.

St. Ann Safety Reminder 

To ensure children’s safety, adults must accompany all children to the restroom in the parish hall during Mass. The restroom key has been moved to the west side door of the church for easier access. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!
