New St. Ann Website!
St. Ann has a new website! This has been an exciting & fun project months in the making. We have enjoyed working with Andy at Robideaux Inc to create a more user friendly and visually beautiful website. We hope you’ll enjoy checking out our new website: https://stannsspokane.org/
Father Patrick
Father Patrick is traveling for the months of May and June. We wish him a safe and restful journey, and pray that he comes back to us safely. We are also thankful for the three visiting priests who will be celebrating Mass while Father Patrick is away.
St. Ann Youth Ministry – Sunday Lunch – May 18
On Sunday, May 18th, our St. Ann youth will be serving Sunday Lunch. Middle school or high school students interested in being a part of this service project, can contact our youth ministers, Robbie or Hannah, or contact the parish office. We will also be in need of adults to help our youth on this day.
Concrete Project
As we have announced at Mass, our next project is to fix the front steps and sidewalk of the church. In order to make the entry ADA compliant, we’ll need to add a ramp, which is more expensive but will allow all of us to enter through the front doors! If you are able to donate, or would like to help with fundraising, contact Dianne at (509) 710-0638 or call/email the parish office.
Gardening Help Needed!
Spring is here and we are looking for volunteers to work in our beautiful gardens! Thank you to Dianne and Jean who weeded last week, and to James for mowing the lawn. If you are interested in being part of our gardening crew, contact Dianne at (509) 710-0638, or call or email the parish office.
World Day of Prayer for Vocations – May 11, 2025
On May 11, 2025, Fourth Sunday of Easter, the 62nd World Day of Prayer for Vocations will be held, on the theme: “Pilgrims of Hope: the Gift of Life”. Here is a link to a message the late Pope Francis sent in March for the World Day of Prayer for Vocations. https://press.vatican.va/content/salastampa/en/bollettino/pubblico/2025/03/19/250319a.html
And here is a message from the Diocese of Spokane:
Today is the perfect time to support our seminarians at Bishop White Seminary. The Saint John Paul II Foundation provides scholarships for these six seminarians. These seminarians are not covered by the Annual Seminarian Appeal. Please scan to donate today and help support our seminarians at Bishop White Seminary, or you can mail donation to: SJPII Foundation, PO Box 10253, Spokane, WA 99209
Franciscan Corner
Francis was a man who was able to listen, discern and act. He heard a voice “Francis, rebuild my church.” He pondered the meaning and decided he needed to collect stones in order to rebuild the dilapidated chapels around Assisi. He started collecting stones. A simple task. He came to realize collecting stones was not the message. There was a deeper meaning to “go rebuild my church”. He started by giving what he had, mercy, compassion, kindness, concern for the other, openness to the poor, an outstretched hand to lift the marginalized up. Have you been called to “rebuild the church”, to give mercy, to be kind, to show concern for others, to outstretch your hand to those who are not with the “in-crowd”? Be a pilgrim of hope this week and in doing so, you may be rebuilding the church in someone’s life.
Thank you to Sr. Joanne for sharing these reflections with us!
