Confirmation and 1st Holy Communion – April 12

The youth worked on their banners after Mass on Sunday, March 22.  If your child didn’t complete their banner at that time, please finish it at home and return it to Elizabeth before the rehearsal on April 11th so all of the banners can be hung in the church.

CRS Rice Bowls

The Catholic Relief Services’ Lenten Rice Bowl program fights hunger and poverty in more than 100 countries. If your family has been collecting donations for the CRS Rice Bowl program during Lent, please bring it to the Easter collection. Alternatively, you can donate online at  https://www.crsricebowl.org/

St. Ann Safety Update

To ensure children’s safety, adults must accompany all children to the restroom in the parish hall during Mass. The restroom key has been moved to the west side door of the church for easier access. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!

A message from the Office of Vocations

Aligning with the Catholic Church’s Vocation Vision, Values and Mission:

“He is not here; for He has risen.” (Matthew 28:6)

Christ’s resurrection opens the door to new life and hope for everyone who follows Him. Through priesthood and consecrated life, men and women share in this victory over sin and death, spreading the joy of the Risen Lord through prayer and service. Could God be calling you to share the hope of Easter in your life and vocation? Talk to your priest or reach out to the Office of Vocations, Fr. Ratuiste 509-313-7100 or contact; https://spokanevocations.org/contact/.

Creation Care Corner

“See, I give you every seed-bearing plant over all the earth and every tree that has seed-bearing fruit on it to be your food: and to all the animals of the land, all the birds of the air, and all of the living creatures that live on the ground, I give all the green plants for food.”  And so it happened.  God looked at everything he had made, and found it very good.”  Genesis 1:29-31 (First reading at Easter Vigil)

Creation and ecology as sacrament.  Roman Catholic spirituality recognizes a sacramental character of nature.  The natural world reveals something about God.  One Catholic sacramental theologian writes, “…the incarnate God is disclosed and discovered through, with and in creation.”  Many of us have friends or relatives who claim, “Nature is my church.” As Catholic Christians we celebrate the Paschal Mystery through Holy Week and Easter.   The Easter Vigil readings tell our story, starting with the creation story.  Creation is the first sacrament given to us by our loving God.  May we treat Creation with the same reverence as we do the seven sacraments of our Church!

The Mini Creation Care Fair on April 19 after Mass is a celebration not only of Easter but also of Springtime and Earth day which all come together within 3 weeks’ time.  We are excited about this first-time event at St. Ann!  Please check out the flyer.  There is fun and giveaways for all ages. Don’t forget to bring used garden items on April 11/12 for free giveaways for another lucky parishioner at the Fair.

Pray for beautiful weather.

Thank you to the Creation Care Team for sharing with us!

Creation Care Fair – April 19

The Creation Care Team is hosting a Mini Creation Care Fair for April 19 at 10:00 to 11:15  AM, right after the 9:00 AM Mass.  There will be educational activities and informational displays, music, and a table with giveaways of garden and yard items!  If you have small garden items you’d like to donate, bring them to Mass the weekend of April 11 & 12.  See the flyer below for more details
