Father Patrick
Father Patrick will be traveling during the months of May and June. We wish him a safe and restful journey. We are also grateful to the three visiting priests who will be celebrating Mass while Father Patrick is away.
Oscar & Gexania Wedding on May 3
St. Ann parishioners Oscar and Gexania are getting married at St. Ann this Saturday! Since St. Ann is their church family, we are all invited to join them as they celebrate their wedding on Saturday, May 3rd at 10:45 AM, followed by a reception in the parish hall.
Swahili Mass – May 4
St. Ann celebrates Mass in Swahili on the first Sunday of each month. Please join us for this joyful celebration of Mass. (The Swahili choir also provides the music for the Saturday Mass.) If you would like to participate in the offertory procession on Sunday, you are invited to bring items such as bottled water, snacks for the parish house, or tissues and hand sanitizer for the church.
Concrete Project
Last weekend Dianne made an announcement at Mass about the need to fix the front steps and sidewalk of the church, which she highlighted by covering the steps with caution tape. The steps are cracked and crumbling, and the sidewalk is uneven – all of which are tripping hazards. In order to make the entry ADA compliant, we’ll need to add a ramp, which is more expensive but will allow all of us to enter through the front doors! We have a concrete contractor and a few generous donors already, but will need more donations before we can start the project. If you are able to donate or would like to help with fundraising, contact Dianne at (509) 710-0638 or call or email the parish office.
Gardening Help Needed!
Spring is here and we are looking for volunteers to work in our beautiful gardens! Thank you to Dianne and Jean who weeded last week, and to James for mowing the lawn. If you are interested in being part of our gardening crew, contact Dianne at (509) 710-0638, or call or email the parish office.
St. Ann Youth Ministry News
Youth Liturgy

On Sunday, May 18th, our St. Ann youth will be serving Sunday Lunch. Middle school or high school students interested in being a part of this service project, can contact our youth ministers, Robbie or Hannah, or contact the parish office. We will also be in need of adults to help our youth on this day.
Franciscan Corner
“Make me a channel of your peace…. Where there’s despair in life, let
me bring hope…” At the end of his days, Francis contemplated his life
and found God everywhere. In his testament, he wrote: God gave me
such faith in churches, he gave me brothers, he gave me a way of life,
he continues to give to me. He welcomed Sister death. He saw death
as giving his life back to God. He wrote: “Hold back nothing of yourself
for yourself, that He who gives Himself totally to you may receive you totally” (Letter to the
Entire Order) Pope Francis seems to have left us the same message. He held nothing back,
he wanted to be with the people. He gave himself to the end, the final ride around the square.
Pope Francis lived what he spoke, he “walked the talk.” He was a Pilgrim of Hope to us all.
May he rest in peace for he did what was his to do. What is ours?
Thank you to Sr. Joanne for sharing these reflections with us!
