Bake Sale for Matthew 25 – September 27
Some St. Ann youth are organizing a bake sale after Mass on Sunday, September 27th. This bake sale will benefit the Matthew 25 Ministry – especially to help with legal fees for a St. Ann parishioner being held in detention. We hope you’ll support this fundraising effort to help Matthew 25 Ministry’s work by purchasing or donating baked goods. If you’d like to help but don’t have time to bake – baking ingredients for cookies can also be dropped off at Mass this weekend. Thank you for your support!
Saturday Community Gathering – September 19
The once a month community gathering and wine tasting is after Mass on Saturday September 19 in the parish hall. Join us for conversation and wine tasting with Dianne – and bring a snack to share if you’d like.
Welcome Avista!
We welcome Avista to St. Ann this Sunday after Mass. The film crew will be in the hall during coffee and donuts on September 20th to show our community and the Corner Laundry in action. Avista will be using this footage, along with the interviews done earlier in the summer, in some short videos that they’ll be publishing on social media and other channels, highlighting the mission of the church in the community and how the partnership with Avista made some energy efficiency improvements in our parish hall possible. The story about St. Ann will be published later this year, so we’ll be sure to share it when it comes out!
Annual Catholic Appeal – “A Heart that Never Fails”
St. Ann’s goal for the Annual Catholic Appeal for this year is $37,995.00. Please prayerfully consider your gift to help St. Ann reach our goal this year. If you did not receive a donation envelope in the mail, there are envelopes available in the entry of the church, or you can give online at the diocesan website. Thank you for your support.
Season of Creation
During the Season of Creation, there are several events happening. We have the opportunity to share and to receive food in a new way – at our Harvest Table. Share from your garden’s abundance, and take what you may enjoy with your family. There will also be a Meatless Potluck after Mass on September 26th, and a Celebration of Creation after Mass on September 27th. SEASON OF CREATION
Season of Creation got off to a wonderful start with two liturgies during which Fr. Patrick presided at the new Mass for the Care of Creation. At the homily time we heard the words that Pope Leo spoke on September 1st, which is the worldwide day of prayer for the Care of Creation. Our wonderful music also reflected on this theme. Care for God’s creation is one of the major tenants of Catholic Social Teaching.

Saturday, September 26
Join the Creation Care Team and fellow St. Ann parishioners for a Meatless Potluck, September 26 after the 4:00 p.m. Mass.
Please bring a meatless dish to share, along with copies of the recipe. Together, we’ll build a collection of delicious meatless recipes and explore new ways to reduce our meat consumption as part of our commitment to caring for creation.
We look forward to sharing food, fellowship, and inspiration with you!
Sunday, September 27
Please join us after the 9:00 a.m. Mass for a Celebration of Creation through music and dance. LaRae Wiley (founder of the Salish School) and her husband will be with us from the local indigenous community. Also Rose Maitinnara and her family will share with us their cultural dancing as Pacific Islanders.
Sunday, October 4
We will celebrate the last day of the Season of Creation with a Blessing of Animals at the end of Mass. What better way could we have to celebrate the 800th Feast of St. Francis of Assisi?

Matthew 25 Ministry Prayer Vigil – October 18
The Matthew 25 Ministry is holding a prayer vigil to stand in solidarity with immigrants and refugees on Sunday, October 18, at 4:00-5:00. Join us at the Thomas Foley Courthouse as we stand together in prayer and song, in solidarity with our neighbors. See flyer below for more details.

Our Lady of Fatima extends an invitation for an Adoration and Rosary, with choral meditations to close a 9 Day Novena to honor the Feast of Our Lady, Undoer of Knots. The Adoration and Rosary is scheduled for Sunday, September 27 at 3:00 PM at Our Lady of Fatima (3327 S Perry – Spokane WA 99203)
Catholic Charities Annual “Fall Leaf Raking Blitz”
Catholic Charities invites us to join them for their “Fall Leaf Raking Blitz” – to rake leaves for low-income seniors and disabled adults in Spokane and Spokane Valley on Saturday, November 7, from 8:15 am-1:00 pm. See flyer below for more details and to register as a volunteer.
Kiwanis Club of East Spokane Fundraiser – December 2
Kiwanis Club of East Spokane has supported the St. Ann Sunday Lunch Program with grants in the past. Support the work of the Kiwanis Club of East Spokane and the Mission Community Outreach Center in Spokane as they present a Civic Theater Benefit performance of Cinderella on December 2, 2026. Restroom Usage During Mass
The Parish Hall restroom key has been moved to the west side door of the church for easier access. Please remember to lock the hall door behind you. To ensure children’s safety, adults must accompany all children to the restroom in the parish hall during Mass. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!
