Youth Liturgy – September 13
During the school year St. Ann offers a youth liturgy program for preschool and school age youth during the 9:00 AM Sunday Mass. This program will begin again on Sunday, September 13. Thank you to Robbie and Hannah for all their work to make liturgy meaningful to our children and young people. If you are interested in helping with our youth ministry, contact Robbie or the parish office.
2nd Collection – September 12 & 13
It’s the 2nd weekend of the month, which is the time for our 2nd collection for Social Concerns – to help those in need in our parish and our neighborhood. There will be baskets at the doors at the end of Mass, or you can give online to “Social Concerns” on tithely. Thank you for your continued generosity.
Social Justice Ministry Meeting – September 16
After a break from meetings during the summer, the Social Justice Ministry will resume meeting every other month on the 3rd Wednesday, beginning on September 16. If you are interested in learning more about our Social Justice Ministry, or joining one of the committees under the Social Justice umbrella, please join us on Wednesday September 16 at 6:30 PM on Zoom. Contact Elizabeth at sjm.stann@gmail.com for the Zoom link if you are interested in attending the SJM meeting.
Annual Catholic Appeal – “A Heart that Never Fails”

The Annual Catholic Appeal has begun. The theme for the ACA this year is “A Heart that Never Fails.” St. Ann’s goal this year is $37,995. Your gift to the Appeal helps support many diocesan programs, including our Catholic schools. Please prayerfully consider your gift this year. If you did not receive a donation envelope in the mail, there are envelopes available in the entry of the church, or you can give online at the diocesan website: https://www.dioceseofspokane.org/aca
Thank you for your support to help St. Ann to reach our goal for this year.
Season of Creation – Harvest Table
During the Season of Creation we have the opportunity to share and to receive food in a new way – at our Harvest Table. Share from your garden’s abundance, and take what you may enjoy with your family. There are several other events happening during this season, as well – check the Creation Care Corner for details.

Creation Care Corner
SEASON OF CREATION
Season of Creation got off to a wonderful start with two liturgies during which Fr. Patrick presided at the new Mass for the Care of Creation. At the homily time, we heard the words that Pope Leo spoke on September 1st, which is the worldwide day of prayer for the Care of Creation. Our wonderful music also reflected on this theme. Care for God’s creation is one of the major tenants of Catholic Social Teaching.
Season of Creation Harvest Table at Weekend Masses. Sept. 1 – Oct. 4.
Share your garden abundance (veggies, herbs and fruits) with parishioners!
4:00 Mass. Place food items on the table in the vestibule of the church.
9:00 Mass. Place food items on the table in the NE corner of the Parish Hall.
Saturday, September 26
Join the Creation Care Team and fellow St. Ann parishioners for a Meatless Potluck, September 26 after the 4:00 p.m. Mass.
Please bring a meatless dish to share, along with copies of the recipe. Together, we’ll build a collection of delicious meatless recipes and explore new ways to reduce our meat consumption as part of our commitment to caring for creation. We look forward to sharing food, fellowship, and inspiration with you!
Sunday, September 27
Please join us after the 9:00 a.m. Mass for a Celebration of Creation through music and dance. LaRae Wiley (founder of the Salish School) and her husband will be with us from the local indigenous community. Also Rose Maitinnara and her family will share with us their cultural dancing as Pacific Islanders.
Sunday, October 4
We will celebrate the last day of the Season of Creation with a Blessing of Animals at the end of Mass. What better way could we have to celebrate the 800th Feast of St. Francis of Assisi?
Thank you to the Creation Care Team for sharing with us!

Youth Safety Reminder – Message from Parish Staff
Father Patrick and the Parish staff are concerned about children’s safety at St. Ann. We ask parents and guardians to ensure that an adult accompanies children to the restroom in the hall during Mass. Adults are also encouraged to supervise children playing on church grounds after Mass and during events to prevent accidents. Please note that the church and parish house are not designated play areas, and eating is permitted only in the hall or outside. Donuts should be enjoyed in these areas, not inside the church. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe environment and for respecting our sacred spaces.
Restroom Usage During Mass
The Parish Hall restroom key has been moved to the west side door of the church for easier access. Please remember to lock the hall door behind you. To ensure children’s safety, adults must accompany all children to the restroom in the parish hall during Mass. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!
