The Liturgy Committee will meet at 11:00 AM after Mass on Sunday, January 18th in the parish house. This meeting will focus on planning for Lent and Easter. If you are involved in Liturgy at St. Ann, or interested in being involved with Liturgy, you are encouraged to attend this meeting.
Community Wine Tasting – January 17

New Railings at St. Ann
With the addition of new railings for the front steps and ramp, the front steps project at the church is finally complete! The railings will add to our safety, and look wonderful with our mission style church. Thank you to everyone who contributed to our building fund that helped make this project possible.

Thank you!
Thank you to Jan K. for creating our beautiful new “All are welcome” banner for our church. We appreciate her sharing of her talent and her care for our community with this gift to all of us.

Congratulations!
Congratulations to Fatima who celebrated her Quinceanera at St. Ann last Saturday. Thank you to her family for sharing this important rite of passage with the St. Ann community – and for the delicious food they brought for our community to enjoy afterwards!

Creation Care Corner
“The Catholic Church, other Churches and Christian communities – and other religions as well – have expressed deep concern and offered valuable reflections on issues which all of us find disturbing.” Pope Francis, Laudato Si’ (7)
The following is in response to our administration withdrawing from many U.N. entities and related organizations, one of which is the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change, or UNFCCC. This treaty was adopted and unanimously ratified by the U.S. Senate unanimously ratified in 1992. Then-President George H. W. Bush called it a “historic treaty” and “the first step in crucial long-term international efforts to address climate change.”
In a joint statement, Catholic Climate Covenant and the North American chapter of the Laudato Si’ Movement said that in withdrawing from international climate and environmental institutions, the U.S. “undermines our responsibility to listen to both the cry of the Earth and the cry of the poor.”
“Climate change, ecological degradation, environmental disasters, forced migration, water scarcity, and biodiversity loss do not recognize national borders,” the statement said. “Turning away from international cooperation on these issues does not make them disappear; it only leaves the most vulnerable and marginalized people, along with future generations, more exposed to harm.” Excerpts from an article in National Catholic Reporter
The best antidote to distressing news or difficult times is ACTION. We recommend attending rallies or demonstrations. They are peaceful, upbeat, and energizing. They give us hope. Not everyone is comfortable with that kind of action. An alternative is to attend the legislative conference below. There are faith-based speakers who are inspiring and practical…suggesting ways forward while informing us on the legislative agenda enabling us to be good stewards of the privileges and duties we have in our democracy.
Eastern Washington Legislative Conference: ‘We Shall Overcome: Building the Beloved Community Today’
