Prayer Request for Hector
We ask that you pray for our parishioner Hector G, who was mentioned in the prayers of the faithful last weekend. We learned that he was picked up and detained by ICE while working in Montana last week, in spite of having a work permit and an asylum case. He was able to make a brief call on Saturday to say that he had been moved to Tacoma. We pray that his lawyers are able to get him released. Hector has been an active member of our community for years; please remember the young man who has sat among us at Mass and celebrations at St. Ann in your prayers.

Plaster Repair
Thank you to all those who donated to our young parishioner Josh’s Eagle Scout project to repair the bell tower and complete repairs to the cracked plaster inside the church. The plaster repair was a big, daunting job, but the contractor has been in the church working over the past two weeks, and their work is making an amazing difference. Dignified Paint is working on matching paint colors and will begin painting soon – so an end is in sight!

There are more work in progress photos posted on our Facebook page, as well. https://www.facebook.com/saintanncommunity

Although the title of the book is in Swahili, the book is in English and is an informative resource for praying the rosary.

Creation Care Corner
“God will ask us if we have cultivated and cared for the world that he created, for the benefit of all and for future generations, and if we have taken care of our brothers and sisters. What will be our answer?” Pope Leo at the 10th anniversary celebration for Laudato Si’.
October 22 – Cooked: Survival by Zip Code
Director: Judith Helfand
Date: Wednesday, October 22
Time: 6pm PT
Location: Hemmingson Auditorium, Gonzaga University and remotely on demand.
Free and open to the public
The Climate Institute is pleased to screen the documentary Cooked: Survival By Zip Code. Peabody Award-winning filmmaker Judith Helfand uses her signature serious-yet-quirky connect-the-dots style to take audiences from the deadly 1995 Chicago heat wave — in which 739 mostly black, elderly, and poor Chicagoans died during the course of one week– deep into one of our nation’s biggest growth industries: disaster preparedness. Along the way, Helfand forges inextricable links between extreme weather, extreme disparity, and extreme racism, daring to ask: what if a zip code was just a routing number and not a life-or-death sentence?
Registrants who indicate they plan to attend virtually will receive a link to view the documentary for a three-day window beginning October 22.
