October 5, 2025 –  27th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Meatless Potluck – October 4

Join the Creation Care Team for a meatless potluck to celebrate the end of the Season of Creation and the Feast of St. Francis this Saturday, October 4th, after the 4:00 PM Mass.  Bring a meatless dish to share along with a copy of the recipe so each of us can collect new meatless recipes. (If you bring one copy, we can make copies to share.)  If  you would like to drop your meal off before Mass, the parish hall will be open at 3:30 PM.   Cutting back on the amount of meat consumed is an easy way  to care for creation – and gathering together is a great way to care for each other.  All are welcome!

Swahili Mass – October 5

St. Ann celebrates Mass in Swahili on the first Sunday of each month at our 9:00 AM Mass.  Please join us this Sunday, October 5th, for this joyful celebration of Mass.  If you are unable to attend on Sunday, you can still enjoy the music of our Swahili choir at the 4:00 PM Saturday Mass.

Special Request from Matthew 25 Ministry

The Matthew 25 Ministry has a special request. One of the families the group is helping is in need of size 6 diapers.  If you would like to donate a package of diapers, you can drop them off at the office – or bring them to the Swahili Mass for the offertory procession!

Rosary for Peace – October 11

Please join us to pray the rosary at 12 noon on October 11 at St. Ann. We will pray for peace in our nation, asking God to save America and our world through the Rosary of his most Holy Mother. Contact the St. Ann office at 509 535-3031 or Denise at 406 498-4811 for more information, or to volunteer to help with the rosary.

A message of gratitude to St. Ann Community,

We want to express our deepest gratitude for the significant role the church and everyone played in our wedding preparations. The  warmth, support, and encouragements made our special day even more memorable.

Knowing that we were surrounded by such a caring community added to the joy of our celebration.

Thank you once again for everyone’s kindness and for being such an important part of our lives. We look forward to continuing our journey together in faith and fellowship.

With heartfelt appreciation,

Conor & Ariane McC.

Creation Care Corner

“God will ask us if we have cultivated and cared for the world He created and for our brothers and sisters.  What will we answer?”  Pope Leo XIV  (spoken at Raising Hope Conference in Rome during Season of Creation)

A Prayer of Transformation

by Julie A. Ferraro

May we see like St. Francis…

who encouraged all those he met to love as Jesus loves, to treat creation with respect and human beings as equals, without concern for status, wealth, personal beliefs or lifestyle.

May we act like St. Francis…

who tended the lepers and considered them friends, spoke truth to the mighty, and offered a way of peace in a time of turmoil and division.

May we walk like St. Francis…

who trod lightly on the earth and only used what he needed.

May we love like St. Francis…

who climbed the steep hill from the valley to Assisi each day, without concern for his own physical discomfort, to beg for food for those who had none so they might be comforted.

May we live like St. Francis…

who took the words and actions of Jesus to heart, embodied them, and spent every ounce of his energy in the service of others, that God’s unconditional love be known to all.

Thank you to the Creation Care Team for sharing these reflections with us.
